I am a dog lover. I currently have two dogs, a German Sherpard mix and a Lab mix. One is 4 and the other is 1 years old. I have been very fortunate since now not to ever lose anyone very close to me. But yesterday I flew back to my families home in San Diego as our family dog of 17 years was on her last leg.

She was an old girl, and a member of our family since I was just a boy. Things had gotten harder for her the past few years. It became tougher and tougher for her to bend her legs and hips.  We had her put down earlier this evening and it was one of the hardest things Ive ever done.

Although heart-breaking, I was fortunate enough to be here to say Goodbye. It was the right thing to do, I know it was. Now I will go home and cherrish her memmories and the ones I will make with my dogs at home.

Some of you I have no doubt will thing I’m a bit dramatic, but I think you need to be a Dog Lover to understand.
