Domaintools is at the live auction market once more, this time with a 50 domain premium auction (Scheduled for Sept 24th during the TRAFFIC conference) They were supposed to be releasing the list on Sept 17th, but instead released a “sneak peak” list of about 30 domain names. Needless to say, there are some “interesting” picks.
Overall, the list looks sub-par, for not just a Domaintools auction, but compared to the Rick Latona and Moniker Auctions, pretty embarassing.
So, what went wrong? Domaintools hired a third party company, DomainConsultant.com to evaluate the domain names, and determine which ones made the grade. Either DomainConsultant did a rotten job or the submissions for this auction were awful. Either way, this auction is looking to be a bust.
When a domain name like NameLender.comĀ makes it on a list of the Top 50 of “Thousands and Thousands” of submissions, your not going to have the quality supply of domains you want.
Best of luck to DomainTools/Aftermarket.com – your going to need it.
Window dressing is not what we’re looking for. Please reserve comments until final list, along with pricing, is published.
Cheers, M.
