HandyCon 2022 (a FREE Virtual Handshake Conference) is March 16-18

HandyCon 2022 is a free virtual conference that is dedicated to the Handshake decentralized domain name protocol. The conference is being held from March 16 – March 18, and it will cover a number of Handshake-related topics (e.g., how Handshake works, how to buy/manage/resolve Handshake names, how to make money with Handshake, etc.). You can register for this free event right now by clicking here.

Many of the speakers are primarily focused on Handshake, but the conference also includes sessions with popular domainers such as Andrew Rosener and Michael Cyger. They will be discussing important considerations for traditional domainers that want to get involved with Handshake.

You can find the full agenda on the conference website, and here are a few of the most exciting sessions:

  • Handshake: A Primer [March 16 @ 14:10 PT / 21:10 UTC] — This primer will cover the information you need to get up to speed on all things Handshake. By the end of the session, you’ll be able to understand how Handshake works, the new technical capabilities it brings to the table, and the differences between the current internet and the future internet.
  • Philosophical Importance of the DWeb [March 16 @ 15:30 PT / 22:30 UTC] — In this panel, speakers will share their thoughts on the bigger picture that the DWeb paints, and they’ll discuss why this technology is critical in the fight against deplatforming and censorship.
  • Web2 and Web3 Trends [March 17 @ 14:25 PT / 21:25 UTC] — Andrew Rosener will talk about the trends and comparisons he is observing with domain sales in the Web2 domain space and the Web3/NFT space.
  • Institutional Adoption of Handshake [March 17 @ 15:35 PT / 22:35 UTC] — During this panel, some of the Handshake community’s most well-known domainers will discuss what it would take to bring traditional domainers into Handshake and embrace the DWeb.
  • Enabling a TLD to Reach its Full Potential [March 18 @ 16:50 PT / 23:50 UTC] — SLDs don’t sell themselves so marketing and branding can be the difference between a successful TLD and one that blends into the masses. In this panel, TLD owners will discuss their strategies for successfully marketing their TLD(s) and turning them into passive income generating businesses.
  • Q&A with Namecheap’s CEO [March 18 @ 18:20 PT / March 19 @ 01:20 UTC] — With the recent acquisition of Namebase by Namecheap, there are plenty of questions floating around in the community about Namecheap’s significant investment in the Handshake community. In this session, the CEO of Namecheap, Richard Kirkendall, will answer those questions.
