New Year, New NameBio – Do More With Unlimited Data Access & Powerful Tools!

We took the five most frequent requests from our users and made them a reality, and we also added in other perks like discounts of up to 50% on featured listings and removing banner ads. I’m excited to announce the new NameBio Memberships for Collectors, Domainers, and Businesses! Let’s jump in and see what’s new:

You Wanted More Than 100 Results Per Search

When we re-launched NameBio at the start of 2015 we stopped requiring users to register in order to see more than a few pages of results per day. That was a welcomed change, but the downside was that we had to limit each search to 100 results to prevent abuse.

Starting today, if you register as a free user and verify your email address we will bump your results per search up 50% to 150. If that still isn’t enough, paying members can increase that number to 500, 2500, or even unlimited results per search.

Seriously, you can paginate all the way through more than 1.3 million historical sales. I know what you’re thinking… “1.3 million? I thought you had closer to 650k records.”

We did, but…

You Wanted To See Sales Below $100

We’ve been tracking sales below $100 for several years now but chose not to load them into the live site. There are two main reasons we didn’t add them in.

First, we felt it would clutter up the results too much with sales that weren’t likely to be used as comps. Second, we get a few complaints a year from people who don’t want their purchases listed publicly. We figured that if we suddenly published hundreds of thousands of low-dollar purchases the number of complaints would skyrocket.

That said, this remains one of the most requested features to this day. Why you might ask? Because seeing sales below $100 is great for spotting trends very early, before they hit the mainstream. Think about Chinese Premium 4L.com from a few years back, at some point they went from being available to register to regularly wholesaling for $15… then $25… then $50… then $95… and so on. But if you can’t see sales below $100 you don’t see the trend forming until it is too late. This goes for numerics, crypto, and many other categories.

Starting today, the Domainer and Business tiers can search sales below $100… and there are a lot of them.  Over the past 30 days we’ve averaged more than 1k new sales per day below $100. We added them to a separate database to not clutter up the home page search, and we don’t generate public details pages that get indexed in search engines.

The perfect balance of information and privacy.

You Wanted To Search In Bulk

As domain investors, lists are a big part of our lives. Maybe you have a short list of domains you want to go after in the drops. Perhaps you have a list of domains you are considering hand registering. Or maybe you have a list of domains for a portfolio you might acquire.

Whatever the source of your list, one thing is true… you want to know if they have sold before. Instead of typing the domains into our search form one at a time, now you can paste them all in at once and get results in seconds.

Paying members can perform anywhere from 2k, 10k, or even 50k bulk searches per month. If you have access to sales below $100 those will be included in bulk search results as well.

You Wanted To Export Your Search Results

While you’ve always been able to easily copy and paste your search results into Excel, that can get pretty tedious for searches with a lot of results.

Now Domainer and Business tiers can click a button and instantly export search results to a CSV file. Exporting results counts towards your bulk searches, so you are only limited by the number of bulk searches you have available.

Imagine with the click of a button being able to download every single 4L.com sale from the past five years, and still have searches left over that month!

You Wanted Saved Searches With Email Notifications

Every domain investor has their niche, maybe it is short domains, dictionary, Geo, crypto, hacks, ccTLDs, new gTLDs, or one of hundreds of other possibilities. It’s not easy to stay on top of these sales, especially in an ocean of other sales you might not be interested in.

Now paying members can create saved searches, and receive an email notification when new sales come in that match the search. For each search you can choose to receive the emails weekly, daily, or not at all if you just want the saved search to act as a bookmark.

We batch multiple saved searches into a single email so you get at most one email per day. And we include sales that were added to the database since your last email, not just sales that had a close date after your last notification. This is a very important distinction.

That means if you have a saved search for domain hacks, and we add one to the database from three months ago, it will still be included in your next email notification. You almost definitely would have missed us adding that sale without a saved search.

There are also a number of creative ways that you can use saved searches to your advantage. Let’s say you notice the price of LLL.coms are slowly dropping, and you want to get in once they start wholesaling for $10k. You can create a saved search for LLL.com with a max price of $10k, and suddenly you’ve got an alert for when to jump back in.

That’s All For Now – But More To Come

I hope you’re as excited as we are about these new power-user features! And don’t worry, guests can still continue using the site as they always have, with the same limits.

We’re looking forward to adding even more features in the near future, including detailed search stats with breakdowns by venue, length, TLD, day of the week, and more.
